Rolling North (Day 2)

Rolling North (Day 2)
Bicycle full-loaded & ready to roll!

Sunday,  breakfast was eggs, boudin, and coffee.  We began biking about 10:20—not the 6:30 start we had envisioned.  The 66 miles was level, with some headwind.  The roads ranged from poor to fair.  The temperature was about 85 with 85% humidity, and mild overcast.  Tolerable but not the Great Northwest!  We stayed at the Sportsman Motel in Simmesport.  Dinner was Cajun cream beans, coldcuts and chips in the motel.  More memories.
Who needs lobster in the land of Cajun crawdads?

Rough but serviceable roads to Simmesport ....
.... running by Sugar Cane fields.....

.......crossing bayous.....
....and going by cemeteries with graves above ground because of the high water table.

Ending the day with a fine meal in our motel room.......
